I woke up late one morning and I saw that everyone in the house was acting really strange. I realized soon that
everyone was acting 'dumb' except for my brother Jacob. I wanted to help him escape this terrible problem that had come
upon my family. I felt bad for everyone else but I knew I had to save myself and my little brother. I hated seeing
my mom and sister like this but I knew I had to save Jacob (my brother) and myself. So we started running down the street
but everyone we ran into was also acting dumb. It was like no one was acting normal and it was scary. I held my
little brother's hand tight and told him not to worry. I told him that I wouldn't let go of his hand. I told him to
not speak to anyone that we see. He took me serious because he saw the serious look of fear on my face. Usually
he doesn't listen to me, but this day was different - VERY DIFFERENT.
I knew we needed to find help, but WHERE? It seemed like we were alone in the world, the only ones who were not
DUMB! And what was making everyone in the world so DUMB? I couldn't understand it! I took my brother to a park
nearby and opened up my backpack. I had made some pb & j sandwiches and so that's what we ate for lunch. I
didn't have time to worry about making supper before we left. I felt guilty about leaving my mom and sister at home
but I was scared of ending up like them!
After we ate, I took my brother to a creek behind the baseball field and we noticed some other "dummies" coming near
the creek also. My brother and I didn't want them to see us, so we hid behind some trees in the woods near the creek.
Then the most amazing thing happened...one of the 'dummies' fell into the creek and came out of the creek NORMAL again!
I raced back to my house with my little brother fast as could be. I grabbed my mom and little sister and brought
them to the creek. They were too dumb to realize that I was about to push them into the creek, and it was a good thing
because otherwise they might not have let me help them get cured. They were cured quick as could be after falling into
the creek. I called up the news station and told them of my discovery, because this problem was happening all over the
world. I was considered a town hero ...people from all over the world lined up behind each other near the creek behind
the baseball field to be cured.
It was great to have my family back to normal again.
